Surf lessons
Do I need surf experience?
No. All levels are welcome, from complete beginners to surfers pushing their level further. Your coaching is matched to where you are.
How long is a lesson?
Every session is 2 hours, including the boat out to the break.
How many people are there per coach?
Two at most in the water. Private lessons are one-on-one with your coach.
Where does it start?
At Selalu Bagus, on the beach in Gerupuk Bay. The boats leave from right in front of the café.
What happens on my first day?
You start on the sand. Your coach sorts your pop-up one-on-one before you paddle out, so you head into the water already knowing the moves.
What's included?
Board, boat, zinc and rash vest are included in every lesson and package.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, a towel and your personal things. We have the rest.
Can I just rent a board?
Yes. Come by the café or message us on WhatsApp and we'll set you up.
Packages & booking
How do the packages work?
Packages are a number of surf sessions you use whenever you like during your stay, depending on availability, tides and weather. See all of them on the packages section.
Can I start any day?
Yes. Book online or message us and we'll set up the day that works for you.
What if the swell or weather isn't good?
Your coach picks the best break and timing for each day's conditions, so every session counts.
How do I book and pay?
Book on the booking page. A 50% deposit locks your spot, and the balance is due 3 days before you start. You can also ask us on WhatsApp for a payment link.
Can I change my dates?
Yes. You get one free reschedule.
Day trips & surf trips
What is the Ekas day trip?
A full day out: the boat across to Ekas, two surf sessions and a fresh fish BBQ lunch on the beach. Free surf is 400k, with board rental 450k, and with lessons 900k. See the day trip.
When does the Ekas trip run?
On set trip days. Meet at 7:00 at Selalu Bagus or 8:00 at Awang pier. Ask us for the next date.
What are the Selalu surf trips?
Small group surf weeks starting in 2027, with coaching, beautiful stays and everything taken care of. Dates and prices are coming soon, so join the waitlist to hear first.
Café & sunset BBQs
When is the café open?
Every day from 7am to 5pm, right on the beach in Gerupuk.
Do I need to be surfing with you to come to the café?
Not at all. Everyone is welcome. Have a look at the menu.
What are the sunset surf & BBQ nights?
We surf together at 4pm for two hours, then light the BBQ on the beach as the sun goes down. Every one is announced in our WhatsApp group, so join the group to hear about the next one. They're becoming a regular thing in 2027.
